Recent Happenings, etc...

It was Thanksgiving recently. I am thankful for my family and friends. I got to see so many wonderful people, it was awesome.

Much has happened since I've last written. I've been doing a lot of painting lately. I haven't uploaded them to the blog yet, but you can see them on my Facebook Page, so go check them out there if you wanna. I've given out about a fuck-thousand of those 'painting factory' paintings out too. If anyone got one of my free paintings and landed here some how as a result, than congratulations, I will literally kiss your ass for you being so cool, hahaha, thanks for peeping my shit!  More importantly though, I've finally managed to pull my head out of my own ass a little bit. I think I must be waking up out of some sort of seven thousand year depression... I'm so grateful for everything. In fact, I should spend the time to write a damn essay about it, because I finally have so much to say again. My god, the brain is an amazing thing. You can literally do whatever the hell you want to with it, bahhahaha. So think about that, and seriously, if you're not making yourself happy everyday, you're probably doing something wrong, hahaha. Geeezus H. Christ, life is too short to worry about shit you have no control over. Damn cliche nonsense@!!1! Now that I feel better i just want to barf out cheesy self help rhetoric to any depressed sap that needs some love, like that even makes any sense at all.  How self defeating is it to try to read a self help book in order to help yourself?  merffm, i shouldn't even start a topic I don't want to devote the time to finish writing about... But damn life is easy if you just smile! aNy way,

This is my most recent musical endeavor;

Old Ass Guitar Video

Hahahaha, I just found this on my external hard drive and had a massive laugh about it. I had totally forgotten this video even existed.  Anyway, here is me (in all my old dreadlocked glory) doing really awful cover songs, in various locations around my parents old farm. Damn I miss the farm sometimes! This is just so wonderfully nostalgic for me. Those days are gone forever....  Oh well, at least now I can sing a lot better these days, lol.

September (What's Crappenin')

*****  I've been redesigning my website and it's almost finished, so check it;    Drake Arnold . com

*****  I've been working on producing endless amounts of paintings, for what I am calling my "Painting Factory".  It is my intention to give all these painting away for free to random strangers I meet. I am kick starting this effort by bringing hopefully about three hundred paintings with me to the BlackWater Music Festival to pass out. Hope to see you there!    =)

*****  Here is a video my friend Laura made recently, featuring one of my songs,  Aphrodite;
"Isaiah"

*****  Here is some of the Frank music, courteously uploaded to Youtube by my friend Katie;

"Number Two"

"Drakes' Gay"
"The Ballad of Ravis"

Soufflé au Charabia...

Is the name of one of my songs...

I made a post about it with the lyrics right after I recorded it.
Here is the link to that post;  Souffle au Charabia Lyrics

Well here's the music video for that song that I just threw together a year later for no apparent reason;

and lastly, just for fun, this is what I got when I just tried to run the "french" lyrics through a translator.

Gibberish Souffle

Ehtwah, of cottage cheese,

 In a bowl, mix Faucette,
Cheese, the white juan,
Johns, eggs, and cream.

Ajouater a clamp, salt and poivréon.

Students, and the dress,
Parade through the streets to demand,
Money to passers-by,
Or they throw,
Flour, flour and eggs.

Pour into mold, and as flour,
Put in preheated oven, When he came out of a crazy,
To form the crust, buttered soufflé,
Put that needs to go up, When he came out of the insane,
Serve, immediate - ing hot, but - the pan.

Wishing you, an iron,
Kitchen hell and eggs,
he told me that soon we would put,
Everybody in, Prozac face fear.

Charcoal Women

These are sketches I've done over the last month or so...  A lot of these photographs are kind of blurry and crappy. Maybe I'll try to take some better photographs of these sometime soon, before they all end up crumpled up in a portfolio or cardboard box in an attic somewhere, lol.

A Correlation Between Perspective and the Passage of Time

My third split screen song/video...

Watch it on Youtube - If you so desire...

A Correlation Between Perspective and the Passage of Time

Sometimes life feels like it will never change
The time crawls by but things just stay the same
And each day bleeds into the next
Months pass by without significance

Here in this moment that is frozen
We decide how our lives will end up
And its everyday we have to fight
to hold up our heads
lest we start crumbling

Sometimes life feels like it moves so fast
You blink you eyes and several years have past
You reflect back on things you wish you had done
and how the chance to do all those things are gone

Here in this moment that is frozen
We decide how our lives will end up
And its everyday we have to fight
to hold our heads up
lest we start crumbling
